NEXT DANDY 'FESTIVAL' JULY 14 2012

This is a tricky one to organise because I want to try and get some attractions I've never sourced before. If anyone knows any street performers: jugglers, magic acts, mime artists, hoola hoopers, who would like to come and polish their act in a small informal setting, please send them my way!

Come and enjoy some Festival Spirit at the Dandy this summer! Indulge in art, craft and vintage wares inspired by festivals, the circus, masquerade, fun fair by the sea side, a rave! Find masks, harlequins, sea side souvenirs, puppets, day glo accessories and more. Think argyle, ruffles, gypsy caravan and canalware, circus animals, music boxes, hoola hoops and much more. Try sweets and savouries from Stephanie Cakes, listen to Erik Rutterford's original gems and special covers to suit the theme, look out for special visitors in costume!

The time has come to celebrate the Dandy Lion Market's One Year Anniversary! The Dandy has steadily carved out it's own niche on the market scene as a small haven for creativity and enjoyment, a friendly market with a viby atmosphere. 

The seller's feature roll has begun with Indiabilly and her gorgeous textile collage art prints, cards and cushions. The June edition will provide a Jubilee art, craft and vintage experience with a difference, offering an alternative to the usual high street souvenir tat. Escape the hustle and bustle and discover highly creative, artistic and cherry picked wares which celebrate multicultural UK home grown, homemade and home sourced. Enjoy a traditional pint or cup of tea, live music and DJ, too!

This month we'll celebrate Spring in full swing, and all that May brings! Expect an adundance of flowers: in jewelry, in fashion, accessories, vintage, art, prints, flower arrangements and bouquets. Trees, wildflowers and weeds will also weave their way into the mix! The highly skilled and knowledgeable, warm & friendly life fitness trainer, Sandi Mather will be offering affordable holistic massage sessions at the 'Flora' edition of the Dandy, in the stables block! Yay!!!

THE DANDY LION MARKET 'MENAGERIE'

If you're into animals do drop by the Dandy Lion Market, 'MENAGERIE' this Saturday, where animals, both wild and domestic will be featured everywhere in pet accessories, collar tags engraved on the spot, vintage figurines, applique wall art and cushions, art, prints, cards, jewellery and fashion! Mix your own liqueurs with Alchemist Dreams and sample French Made delectable savouries and sweets. DJ Tobester will be keeping the grooves and ambience moving, while Erik Rutterford performs his intimate and moving live acoustic set in the courtyard. If animals aren't your thing, there's plenty on offer for you, too, as the Dandy has something for everyone!

In recognition of International Women's Day & Mother's Day this month's Dandy is dedicated to women, girls, and mothers. We are partnering with Oxfam to celebrate International Women's Day and help raise money to support women living in poverty around the world, through raising awareness, through sellers contributing a percentage of takings, and with visitors being able to contribute, too.

My son Erik has been coming to every market since it started, singing & strumming his soulful indie in the courtyard and stables. A little brightener for sellers and visitors alike. Thanks Erik! and Eloya, too, who has come along to a good few to accompany Erik, as well as sing her own gems, including 'Butterfly' and 'Yellow Man'. Wonderful stuff.
